T-Pain Might Drop LP And Mixtape With Lil Wayne

T-Pain "Can't Believe It" on his new single, and some fans are refusing to believe that a joint album between the hook specialist and Lil Wayne will really come to fruition.

Keep sleeping, Teddy P laughs. Although the duo haven't been able to lock in the studio together due to conflicting schedules, they have been able to send records back and forth through e-mail. The process has been so successful, Pain told our European cousins over at MTV Base that there might be two T-Wayne records: one for the stores and one for the streets.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah, definitely we can discuss it, man," Pain said. "I've been doing an album with Lil Wayne. It's called T-Wayne: The Project. It's basically just going to be an array of things, just a visual love. The two artists you've seen collaborate with everyone except each other. When you see us together, it's crazy right now. We already have what we've done. We're gonna keep going till they tell us to stop. We might even put out a mixtape. We've got so many songs that we just might do a T-Wayne mixtape too."

Pain and Wayne recently completed videos for "Can't Believe It," from Teddy's fall release Thr33 Ringz, and the clip from Tha Carter III's "Got Money" is all over the place now. ...

This version sports a predominantly black suede upper along with white and grey accents at the back end. The Air Jordan 22 (XXII) was inspired by the F-22 Raptor Strike Fighter. When you look at the F-22 Raptor you see the light camo spots and sharp aerodynamic cuts that can cut through the air like ice.The design of the upper has sharp lines which takes inspiration from the sharp maneuverability of the F-22 Raptor. They feature zig-zag stitching similar to that of the F-22 which [in the air] helps conceal the jet from enemy radar. KicksOnFire.com

NORE takes shirt off!

With a new CNN album on the way Queens bred rapper Noreaga knew he had to do something to put his name in the headlines. So he took off his shirt. In this SOHH exclusive N.O.R.E explains how Rick Ross inspired him to bare his belly for the blogs.

“Hip-Hop on the internet is really based on beef and a bad history,” he told SOHH. “I don’t really have that. I don’t have beef with any other rapper.”

“I said, ‘I know a way that I could get the bloggers and the sites to start talking.’ So I took my shirt off,” he continued. “I took my shirt off to [give] people something to laugh about, to [give] people something to cry about but it made people talk about me.”

Of course, when N.O.R.E. released the photo of his newly acquired extra pounds, the blogs had a field day. Some even compared him to Ross, another big-bellied rapper with a penchant for going topless. Noreaga admits that Ross was an inspiration.

“Absolutely, I’d be a liar if I wasn’t saying that I was inspired when I seen Rick Ross doing it,” Nore said. “I thought it was dope and I thought it was fun and I said, ‘You know what I can show off my belly too!’ Because as unsexy as it is to certain people, there’s a lot of girls out there that’s chubbychasers!”

Noreaga also used the photo-op to debut his new, iced out Newport box charm. In a quest to be creative and original, the rapper commissioned the custom piece.

“I just said, ‘Why don’t I just go all out and just get a pack of Newports?’ Of course, I put my twist on it and I called it the Noreports. People get a kick out of when they find out that it do open up and it do hold cigarettes.”

This fall, Norega and his partner in rhyme Capone will end an eight-year hiatus with the release of a brand new Capone-N-Noreaga album called Channel 10.

Elite working with DMX on new album

Elite is working with DMX on his new album Walk With Me Now, Fly With Me Later. Check out what the producer had to say in his blog:

"Last summer I was chronicling my experience on the DOG DAYS OF SUMMER TOUR with X and Bazaar Royale. During those months I was able 2 slide X a few beat CDs and low and behold new years eve I got the phone call from Dog himself. He was goin nuts over my stuff and said that the first 2 songs he would be recording for his album were mine.

I just heard the joints completed today and its kind of a strange situation because for the first time in my career I wasn't able to be there for the mix. As a producer that is important because you get the final say on how everything sounds, the drops, the sequencing, levels etc. You really get to put your STAMP on the song. I was pleasantly surprised at how the mixes came out though, everything sounded pretty good. Of course there are always changes you wish you could have made, but overall i was pretty satisfied.

The first joint is the album intro, one of my old fav beats... X is singin some real emotional shit and it sounded real good. The only thing was they decided to cut the beat extremely short, its kind of a strange beat in that I had it fade out and come BACK in for dramatic effect... The part that sucks is that the hottest part of he beat by far is the part they cut off!!!! So I'm preparing a special EXTENDED edition of the joint, that of course I will post here once the album drops. Take the situation n make it positive! I'm a make it crazy, so if u want that exclusive(mixtape DJs and bloggers)... hit me up!

The 2nd joint is a beat I must have made at least 6 years ago. Alimah-Dean who was responsible for bringing me into the whole Ruff Ryders camp once told me that the song "Silver Shadow" was one of X's favorites. So I decided to flip it for him. Amazing how you put a strong intention out into the world, totally forget about it, and years later it manifests when you least expect it.

As far as the album goes, I'm hearing its looking like an October release date. As far as the "gospel" album everyone is talking about, its not exactly traditional "gospel" like you might be thinking... lol. A lot of people seem to be puzzled at the genre label hes giving it, but let me try to break down what he's doing wit it for you."

Birthplace Of Hip-Hop Still Up For Sale

Despite having survived a previous take-over attempt that would have resulted in the displacement of several low income families, the building widely accepted as the birthplace of Hip-Hop remains in danger.

On Wednesday, New York City and State politicians rallied alongside tenants of 1520 Sedgwick Avenue in the Bronx, protesting the proposed sale of the historical building that would result in unaffordable rents for the 100-unit building’s current residents.

For close to two years, the tenants have been fighting to maintain the building’s status as one of the last remaining affordable housing complexes in the West Bronx.

"We’ve got to keep the fire burning," DJ Kool Herc told The New York Daily News.

Kool Herc is credited with laying the groundwork for the invention of Hip-Hop during a party at the legendary building on Sedgwick and Cedar.

"It’s not just happening here, people got problems in all five boroughs. We’re going to keep up the fight," DJ Kool Herc said.

The tenants celebrated a brief victory in February, when the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development denied a proposal by the building’s owners to sell the property to real estate developer Mark Karasick for $9 million.

According to The New York Daily News, the price, which the city says exceeded the value of the building, would have been the first step in a practice known as “predatory equity."

The unscrupulous practice allows banks and mortgage lenders to make loans they cannot support as a motive to later sell the properties to private investors, often leaving current tenants out in the cold.

The 1520 Sedgwick Ave. Tenants’ Association still hopes to raise funds in time to purchase the building themselves, a move which, last December, the building’s owners said they would not oppose.
