2007 SEMA Show: 50 Cent's Pontiac G8
LAS VEGAS — Rapper Curtis Jackson isn't quite as flamboyant as some of his musical contemporaries. In a unique collaboration with Pontiac, the hip-hop superstar better known as 50 Cent shows remarkable restraint in creating a special edition of the soon-to-be-released G8 sedan.
The 50 Cent G8 is a collaboration with Will Castro's New York-based Unique Autosports, of Unique Whips fame. Two features stand out.
Under the hood is a 7.0-liter LSX 427 V8 from the GM Performance Parts catalog. It shares many of its basic components with the Corvette Z06's LS7 engine and is dyno-tested to more than 500 horsepower.
Equally earth-shaking is the custom 800-watt JBL audio system, which bundles amplifiers, tuner, speakers and subwoofer.
A few additional touches include low-profile Pirelli Scorpion Zero tires on 22-inch NC Forged chrome deep-dish wheels, a Borla stainless-steel exhaust system and a Spies Hecker torch-red exterior paint job accented with dark-tinted glass and taillamps.
The only real hint of excess is found inside, where the black leather seats have been retrimmed with perforated red-leather inserts and a 50 Cent/Unique Autosports logo embroidered into the headrests.
What this means to you: The car is not nearly as angry as the tunes.

DJ Khaled shoots "Im So Hood" *Remix* Video / Responds to Young Buck
In a recent interview with MTV News, DJ Khaled fired back at Young Buck in response to accusations that Khaled is blackballing his music in Miami.
"He's a liar," Khaled countered. "Tell him to make a hit record. Tell him to do me the biggest favor — tell him I said this, tell him I said it in big letters — stop making excuses and make a hit record. Tell him he's garbage. I don't have time for the negative stuff. That's not even my style. I hate when somebody makes an excuse when their music doesn't get played. You think I'm not playing it? The whole country isn't playing it. Put that in the interview. Tell me: Is he on 'TRL'? Is he on the MTV countdown? OK, so that's one other [outlet] that's not playing him. Radio stations aren't playing him right now because he doesn't have a hit record. You can't stop a hit record. If I don't make a hit record, I'm not gonna get played. 50 Cent don't make a hit record, he's not gonna get played. Same for Nas; it's just the game. I'll pray for [Young Buck], but tell him to stop worrying about me. And tell him this: You can't stop a brother that's loved, and I'm loved."
Young Buck had accused DJ Khaled of blackballing his music following G-Unit's battle with Fat Joe.
DJ Khaled recently shot a video for the remix to "I'm So Hood" featuring Ludacris, Young Jeezy, Lil Wayne, Fat Joe, T-Pain, Rick
Ross, Big Boi, Birdman and Busta Rhymes.

Nas talks Album!
In a recent interview with music magazine Rolling Stone, Nas spoke aboiut the controversy surrounding his new album title and Universal Music Group's decision to stick with the name.
Nas said that his previous album, 'Hip-Hop is Dead' was supposed to have the name 'Nigger' but “the climate wasn’t right, and Hip Hop Is Dead is also what I was feeling. That went first, and now I’ve got to get this one off my chest,” he explains, aslo speaking about the wave of hate crimes involving nooses around the country. “It’s the new act of hate, and probably because of Barack Obama, people’s ignorance and fear and jealousy is creating an outrage throughout the country, and people are reacting by putting nooses up. It’s been a really serious year,” the rapper explained.
Regarding the controversy surrounding the name, Nas said “It’s like talking to your child about sex. It’s hard, but it’s important,” he says. “It’s probably going to make people uncomfortable. I don’t expect a lot of people to sell a record called Nigger. Hopefully, people can open their minds up and lose some of their fear and deal with it. It’s just an album. It’s one piece of the many things I do, and this will be one of my favorite pieces.” “It will be certain record stores that will be scared to deal with it. The record label is gung ho, and it’s ready to go.”

T.I. Released From Prison
A judge ordered rap superstar T.I. released from prison on $3 million dollars bond today (October 26) but the rapper must stay in home confinement until his federal trial for possession of machine guns and silencers.
Judge Alan Baverman said the rapper will be restricted to a house in Henry County, Georgia and will be monitored 24 hours a day by a private monitoring service that he must also pay for.
The judge said that T.I. was to have no contact with witnesses or informants associated with the case.
T.I., born Clifford Harris, is charged with possession of unregistered machine guns and silencers and possession of firearms by a convicted felon.
The rapper was arrested in Atlanta on October 13 by agents of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) after he allegedly attempted to purchase three machine guns and two silencers from an undercover agent, acting as an arms dealer.
Police also found loaded weapons and marijuana on T.I. when they arrested him. A subsequent raid of his Atlanta mansion turned up a cache of loaded automatic weapons.
"On behalf of the family and friends of T.I., we appreciate the global outpouring of concern that he has received during this period," representatives for the rapper said. "T.I. is humbled by the overwhelming encouragement he is getting from his fans and offers his profound thanks to all."
T.I., 27, faces a maximum of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine on each count.

Lil Wayne / Jay-Z Speak on Collaboration "Hello Brooklyn"
When asked about 'Hello Brooklyn,' his much talked about collaboration with Lil Wayne, Jay said "it's more of a great record than a lyrical slugfest. It's more a creative, great record than two guys spitting. 'Success' is more of what people wanna look at when you judge that type of [collaborative] stuff. It's me and Nas going at it."
Lil Wayne also told MTV that the song was initially made for his album, Tha Carter, Vol. 3.
"It was produced by my homeboy Big D a long time ago," he said. "Jay heard the song some type of way, and when he heard it, he said, 'Ask the homie if I can get this.' When I was asked the question, I told them it wasn't even a question — he's got it. Everybody in the world knows how I feel about Jay. ... He's the king, utmost respect.
"The song has a sample on there that says, 'Hello Brooklyn,' " Wayne added. "I made it so that I'm talking to a woman and the woman has the traits of the actual place [where the song is set]. I say, 'She love B.I.G. but she like Tupac, and every time I say, "Jay-Z," she say, "It's the Roc." ' Me not being from Brooklyn, I think it's cool because you always wanna know what an outsider thinks of your place."

Return of Killa Cam! HipHop's Savior (Dipset)
"Killa Season again, you little yentas," Cam said in an e-mail to MTV News, referencing his 2006 album. "November 7th. Cam'ron is anonymous. Dipset!"
Cam has also just launched Killa Cam Space on MySpace to promote the mixtape. On the site, you'll soon find exclusive music from Public Enemy #1, like the song "Glitter," which he previewed for MTV News. It's all about the flamboyant Harlemite flossin'.
There's also a new video he sent to MTV, which starts out with various clips of news outlets talking about Cam's infamous "Stop Snitchin' " campaign, including his appearance on Bill O'Reilly's "The O'Reilly Factor." From there it goes to different shots of 'hood paparazzi running up on Cam (similar to the online video that surfaced last week). It ends curiously with Killa in a graveyard and the music from the theme of "The A-Team" playing. The screen goes black as the words "Public Enemy #1, Free Double CD, November 7th" appear.
Cam is still a musical free agent and shopping around to find his next record deal. Production is almost complete on his upcoming album, which doesn't have a title yet.
Tupac Amaru Shakur Center Vandalized
The Tupac Amaru Center For The Arts, located in Stone Mountain, Georgia, was vandalized twice in the last five days. At approximately 2:00 a.m., Saturday October 20, a noose was put around the statue of the slain rapper, located in the center's Peace Garden. Forty eight hours later, additional vandalism, found in hateful writing and threats to other rappers and record labels were found in the same vicinity.
As of Tuesday morning, an unnamed male has been arrested by De Kalb County Police as a primary suspect. The sheriff has also openly stated the likelihood of several vandals involved. No motives have been revealed.
Tupac's mother, Afeni Shakur told press the following: "We thank everyone for their prayers and support. Although our hearts are temporarily in pain, our spirits have already forgiven the perpetrators. Hate comes in all colors and genders therefore we will use this act of hate and ignorance to bring our community together and to pray for the healing of those who harbor such feelings. With God's guidance, the work of the Tupac Amaru Shakur Center for the Arts and Peace Garden will continue to positively impact and transform our community."
As a result of the incident, the center is now raising money for a fence to prevent such events from recurring. On November 10, the center will host its second bi-annual re-dedication of the Peace Garden, followed by film screenings and a discussion panel. New G-Unit Album (Winter Release)
Jay-Z Regretting Retirement / Speaks on Lil Wayne
In the upcoming issue of XXL, of which Jay-Z takes the cover, Shawn Carter reveals that he is actually "embarrassed" that he announced his retirement two albums ago.
In an interview with the magazine, Jay-Z addresses the whole situation and how he wishes he could take it back.
"I think I pulled the retirement ripcord too many times. People looking at me like, `Please shut up.' I was looking at (his retirement movie) `Fade to Black' the other day. I was embarrassed. I couldn't watch. I'm not playing with you. I had to turn it off," he said in the feature. "I was cringing."
He also exclaimed how he would "never say that again," and let nature take its course for the rest of his career.
But how does Jay-Z feel about the new "greatest rapper alive" - Lil Wayne?
"I think Lil Wayne is extremely talented," Jay says about Weezy as it seems that Wayne is actually featured on the American Gangster album. "I think he's one of the most talented ones out there. I mean, even more so how his delivery is than what he says. I don't think some of the things he says sometimes are the greatest things, but the way he delivers it, that's part of it."
While a rumored beef could have ensued a while back during the Jay-Z signing Lil Wayne rumors as well as Wayne's public tirade on Jay in Complex magazine("It's not your house anymore and I'm better than you."), it seems that cooler heads have prevailed and Jay is admirable the New Orleans rapper. But does Hov believe that Wayne can hold a candle to him?
"Do I think me and Lil Wayne should be in the same sentence? Me? No," Jay says. "I mean, hopefully one day. He has to accumulate work. Put some classics under his belt."
